Islamabad(Khyber Point)Renowned Pakistani actor Nabeel Zafar has taken a humorous yet sharp jab at the Sindh government’s newly implemented e-challan system, saying that Karachi’s drivers deserve rewards, not fines, for navigating the city’s chaotic roads.

Taking to social media, the veteran actor remarked that driving in Karachi should be considered an achievement worthy of recognition. “In a city full of traffic jams, potholes, and reckless drivers, anyone who manages to get home safely should be given a prize instead of a penalty,” Nabeel quipped.

His statement quickly resonated with citizens across the city, many of whom expressed similar frustrations with the deteriorating road infrastructure and mounting traffic issues. Residents argue that before enforcing traffic fines through cameras, the government should focus on fixing broken roads, managing congestion, and ensuring basic road safety standards.

Nabeel Zafar, best known for his role in the popular sitcom Bulbulay, added that Karachiites exhibit exceptional patience and resilience while driving under such harsh conditions. “The real test of endurance is surviving a drive through Karachi’s roads every day,” he said, sparking a wave of agreement and humor online.

The Sindh government recently launched the e-challan system on major roads of Karachi, aiming to improve traffic discipline through digital monitoring. However, thousands of residents have already received challans at home, leading to widespread criticism and calls from the public — as well as several political parties — to suspend the system until the city’s crumbling infrastructure is repaired.

Many see Nabeel’s comment as a witty yet accurate reflection of everyday urban frustration in Pakistan’s largest metropolis.
