Women Chamber Peshawar, SBP BSC Sign MoU to Promote Financial Inclusion and Empowerment of Women Entrepreneurs

In a significant move aimed at strengthening the financial empowerment of women entrepreneurs, the Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry Peshawar (WCCIP) and the State Bank of Pakistan Banking Services Corporation (SBP BSC), Peshawar Office, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote financial literacy, financial inclusion, and access to financing opportunities for women-led businesses across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The MoU signing ceremony was chaired by WCCIP President Ms. Qurat Ul Ain, who welcomed the SBP BSC delegation led by Chief Manager Mr. Javaid Iqbal Marath. The delegation also included Mr. Naimat Ullah and Ms. Rabia Khan.

Under the agreement, both institutions will establish a long-term partnership to collaborate in key areas such as financial literacy, SME financing, agriculture financing, digital financial services, Islamic banking, and women’s financial inclusion. The initiative aims to equip women entrepreneurs with the knowledge, skills, and resources necessary to effectively engage with modern financial systems and expand their businesses.

As part of the collaboration, WCCIP and SBP BSC will jointly organize seminars, awareness campaigns, capacity-building workshops, and specialized training programs. These activities will focus on enhancing financial knowledge among women entrepreneurs and improving their access to banking services, financing facilities, and business development opportunities.

Speaking on the occasion, WCCIP President Ms. Qurat Ul Ain emphasized the importance of empowering women through financial education and access to financial resources. She stated that the partnership represents a meaningful investment in the economic future of women entrepreneurs throughout Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and will contribute to creating a more inclusive business environment.

She further noted that women’s economic participation is essential for sustainable growth and development, adding that increased financial inclusion can help women-owned businesses grow, create employment opportunities, and contribute more effectively to the provincial and national economy.

The ceremony was attended by WCCIP Vice President Ms. Zareen Akhtar, Executive Committee Members Ms. Lubna Ashraf and Ms. Laziza Arbab, Secretary General Ms. Saba Hidayat, Former Vice President Ms. Saima Amjad, and several chamber members, including Ms. Afshan Khan, Ms. Tajjala Khan, Ms. Mirha Ali Khan, Ms. Aasia Alam, Ms. Mishi Khan, Ms. Farwa Khan, Ms. Farrukh Naz, and Ms. Anum Khan.

Participants described the agreement as an important step toward enhancing women’s financial inclusion and strengthening the entrepreneurial ecosystem for women across the province.

The Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry Peshawar continues to play a vital role in promoting, supporting, and representing women entrepreneurs through advocacy, networking opportunities, capacity-building initiatives, and business development programs throughout Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
