Quetta(Khyber Point) At least 10 civilians were killed and more than 30 others injured in a suicide attack on the Frontier Corps (FC) headquarters in Quetta on Monday, September 30, 2025. According to security officials, six militants, including the suicide bomber, were killed after security forces swiftly responded to the assault.

The attack occurred near the main gate of the FC headquarters on Khojak Road in Quetta’s Model Town area. The bomber rammed an explosives-laden vehicle into the entrance, causing a massive blast that shattered windows of nearby buildings and damaged several parked vehicles. The powerful explosion was followed by intense gunfire, sparking fear and panic in the surrounding area.

Security sources confirmed that the attackers, dressed in FC uniforms, attempted to force their way into the compound. However, security personnel engaged them in a firefight, preventing them from entering. Two FC soldiers were among the injured. Officials added that the terrorists were acting on “a hostile agenda” but their plan was foiled by the timely action of security forces.

Rescue teams rushed the victims to Quetta’s Civil Hospital, where Provincial Health Minister Bakht Kakar confirmed the casualties. He stated that the blast killed 10 people, including four women, while more than 30 wounded were receiving treatment, among them two security personnel. “A major terrorist plot has been foiled, and six attackers were neutralized,” the minister said.

Eyewitnesses described scenes of chaos as ambulances and emergency teams arrived to evacuate the injured. Many buildings within a radius of several hundred feet sustained damage due to the force of the explosion. Security officials noted that the attack was part of a broader wave of terrorism targeting Balochistan, but reiterated that the militants failed to achieve their objective of storming the FC headquarters.

In the aftermath, security was tightened across Quetta. FC and police units sealed off the area, while bomb disposal squads were placed on high alert. Authorities have launched an investigation to identify the attackers and their network, suspecting links to local militant outfits.

The attack underscores the persistent threat of terrorism in Balochistan, a province that has frequently been targeted by extremist groups seeking to destabilize the region. Officials vowed to continue operations to eliminate such elements and prevent future attacks.
