Peshawar( Khyber Point) In a decisive move to curb crime and strengthen law and order, police in Peshawar’s Mathra jurisdiction carried out a large-scale targeted search operation on the directives of senior officers. The operation focused on high-risk areas including Sado Garhi, Garhi Sherdad, Sher Kalay, and adjoining localities, which have been identified as hotspots for criminal activity.
Led by Station House Officer (SHO) Malang Jan, the search resulted in the arrest of several individuals wanted in connection with serious crimes, including attempted murder and drug trafficking. Among those detained were proclaimed offenders, facilitators accused of harboring fugitives, and active drug dealers involved in the distribution of narcotics in the region.
During the raid, police recovered 500 grams of crystal meth (commonly known as ice), three pistols, and multiple rounds of ammunition. Authorities confirmed that the confiscated items highlight the ongoing threat of organized criminal activity in the area.
A police spokesperson stated that cases have been registered against the arrested suspects, and further investigation is underway to trace their wider networks. Law enforcement agencies emphasized that such operations will continue as part of their commitment to eliminating crime and ensuring the safety of citizens.
The crackdown comes as part of broader efforts by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police to maintain peace and stability across the province. Officials reiterated their determination to dismantle criminal groups and warned that individuals providing shelter or support to offenders will face strict legal consequences.
This latest operation underscores the police’s proactive stance against crime and reflects a larger campaign aimed at restoring public confidence in law enforcement while sending a clear message to those involved in illegal activities.
