Peshawar( Khyber Point)Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has lashed out at critics within his own party, accusing them of fueling division in the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) over the Senate elections and ticket distribution.
Speaking during a party meeting in Peshawar, Gandapur expressed frustration over what he described as a “drama” surrounding Senate tickets. He stressed that the decision-making authority rests solely with PTI’s founder, Imran Khan, and said he merely followed instructions. “This party belongs to Khan. Yet I was attacked unfairly. My role was misrepresented,” Gandapur said.
He alleged that certain elements within PTI were deliberately preventing him from meeting Imran Khan, which he claimed was damaging the party’s unity. “Those blocking my access to Khan are not our friends but our enemies. They want PTI to break apart, and unfortunately, they are succeeding,” he remarked.
The chief minister further criticized party members who doubted the authenticity of the Senate candidates’ list released under Imran Khan’s name. “Many claimed Khan did not issue the names. But when Khan himself confirmed it, not one of them apologized. Nobody admitted they were wrong. That’s shamelessness,” Gandapur stated angrily.
He added that his last meeting with the PTI founder took place on April 2 and that the lack of communication since then was contributing to party instability. Emphasizing the need for unity, he warned that internal conflicts were only strengthening PTI’s rivals.
Gandapur’s remarks reflect growing tensions within PTI, as internal disagreements over strategy and leadership continue to widen the rift in the party ranks.
