Peshawar( Khyber point)In a chilling act of terrorism, three police personnel, including a Station House Officer (SHO), were martyred when armed assailants ambushed a patrol vehicle in Karak district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to police officials, the attack occurred in Banda Daud Shah area, where SHO Umar Nawaz was on routine patrol with two constables. Unknown gunmen, believed to be militants, lay in wait and opened indiscriminate fire on the police mobile. The hail of bullets riddled the vehicle, leaving all three officers dead on the spot.
A spokesperson for Karak police confirmed the tragic loss, stating that the attackers managed to flee after the ambush. “It was a pre-planned assault, executed with brutal precision. SHO Umar Nawaz and his team embraced martyrdom in the line of duty,” the spokesperson said.
Security forces immediately cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to trace the perpetrators. Authorities suspect the involvement of terrorist groups seeking to destabilize the province and target law enforcement.
The incident has sent shockwaves across the region, underscoring the persistent threat of militancy in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Senior police officials have vowed to bring the attackers to justice, while tributes poured in for the slain officers’ bravery.
