PESHAWAR(Khyber Point) The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has finalized a comprehensive list of the province’s most wanted terrorists, setting bounties on their heads in collaboration with intelligence and security agencies. The move marks one of the largest coordinated efforts to curb militancy in the region in recent years.
According to official sources, the list — jointly compiled by the provincial administration and intelligence bodies — includes detailed profiles of 1,349 highly wanted militants. The finalized list has been submitted to the Federal Ministry of Interior for nationwide circulation and law enforcement coordination.
Out of the total, 59 high-profile terrorists have had bounties placed on their heads ranging from Rs10 million to Rs30 million. Among the top names is Kazim Khan from Kurram, whose head carries the highest bounty of Rs30 million, followed by Commander Amjadullah, with a bounty of Rs20 million.
The notorious Maulvi Faqir Muhammad from Bajaur, a long-time militant leader with links to banned groups, is also featured on the list with a bounty of Rs15 million. The report further reveals that these individuals are associated with terrorist networks operating across multiple regions, including Peshawar, Swat, Dera Ismail Khan, and Bajaur.
Authorities believe that publicizing the list and offering cash rewards could aid in gathering intelligence and encouraging cooperation from local communities. The government has also directed law enforcement agencies to intensify search and surveillance operations in identified districts.
This initiative underscores KP’s renewed focus on combating terrorism amid growing security challenges in the province, particularly in areas once considered strongholds of militant outfits
