PESHAWAR( Kashif Arif) The vibrant colors of Spanish culture came alive in Peshawar as the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture and Tourism Authority (KPCTA) hosted a mesmerizing Flamenco dance performance at Nishtar Hall, marking the first-ever formal Flamenco event in the province’s history.
The event offered residents a rare glimpse into Spain’s world-famous artistic heritage, bridging cultural ties between Pakistan and Spain. The celebrated Flamenco artists, known globally for their passionate performances, captivated the audience with their mastery of rhythm, expression, and grace.
Speaking at the event, Secretary Tourism Dr. Abdul Samad said such cultural exchanges promote mutual understanding and strengthen the friendship between nations. “Thanks to the efforts of our security forces, international artists can now perform in Peshawar in a peaceful and welcoming environment,” he remarked.
Dr. Samad highlighted that introducing European art and culture to local audiences enhances the province’s cultural diversity and encourages tourism. “It is heartening to see families enjoying the Flamenco performance. This reflects the people’s appreciation for art, music, and international harmony,” he added.
The event was attended by several dignitaries, including Director General of Tourism Habib Arif, Consul General of Barcelona Murad Wazir, and Director of Culture Ajmal Khan. Spanish performers praised Pakistan’s hospitality, describing the country as peaceful and culturally rich.
Officials also announced that the provincial government is preparing to organize the famous “Jashn-e-Khyber” festival soon, further promoting cultural activities and tourism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The event concluded with loud applause, as Peshawarites celebrated a night of rhythm, color, and cultural connection that symbolized a new era of artistic openness in the region.
