Quetta – Security forces conducted a major intelligence-based operation in the outskirts of Quetta, killing at least 10 militants allegedly backed by India. The joint action was launched in Ghaza Band, a rugged mountainous area, following confirmed intelligence reports about the presence of armed groups involved in recent terrorist activities.

According to security sources, the operation was carried out after credible information indicated that Indian-sponsored militants had established a stronghold in the Ghaza Band region. The militants were believed to be planning further terrorist attacks in Balochistan and beyond.

During the operation, a heavy exchange of fire took place between the militants and security personnel. Despite the militants’ fierce resistance, forces successfully eliminated 10 fighters. Officials confirmed that two security personnel were injured in the firefight but were reported to be out of danger.

The raid also led to the recovery of a significant cache of weapons and explosives, underscoring the scale of the militant group’s activities in the area. Authorities believe the group was responsible for coordinating attacks aimed at destabilizing the province and spreading fear among local communities.

Military officials emphasized that the successful operation highlights the resolve of Pakistan’s security forces to dismantle networks funded and supported by hostile foreign actors. “The operation demonstrates our firm commitment to eradicating terrorism in all its forms and ensuring peace in Balochistan,” one security source stated.

Balochistan has long been a hotspot for insurgent and militant activity, with Pakistan frequently accusing India of backing separatist groups in the province. The latest operation, officials said, reflects not only the improved intelligence coordination among security agencies but also the seriousness with which Islamabad is addressing foreign-sponsored militancy.

Local residents in Quetta welcomed the operation, noting that the presence of militants in nearby areas had created insecurity and fear. They expressed hope that continued actions against these groups would restore lasting peace to the region.

Analysts say the operation also carries broader geopolitical implications, as it underscores Pakistan’s repeated claims of Indian involvement in Balochistan’s unrest. The government is expected to raise the issue on international platforms, citing the seizure of weapons and evidence from the slain militants.

Security forces reiterated their commitment to continue targeted operations until all terrorist networks are dismantled. The incident marks one of the most significant counter-terrorism successes in Quetta in recent months
