Washington( Khyber Point) Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has hailed U.S. President Donald Trump as a “champion of peace,” expressing confidence that Pakistan-U.S. relations will further strengthen under his leadership.

In a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office, Shehbaz Sharif, accompanied by Pakistan’s Army Chief Field Marshal Gen. Syed Asim Munir, held a cordial and constructive meeting with President Trump at the White House.

Sharif lauded Trump’s decisive role in securing a ceasefire between Pakistan and India, calling it a bold step that averted a potential regional catastrophe in South Asia. He also praised Trump’s mediation efforts in Gaza, particularly his engagement with Muslim leaders in New York to push for a sustainable truce.

The prime minister underscored the importance of global peace initiatives and expressed gratitude for Trump’s commitment to conflict resolution at both regional and international levels.

Sharif also welcomed the U.S.-Pakistan tariff agreement concluded earlier this year, thanking the American leadership for enhancing trade opportunities. He invited U.S. companies to invest in Pakistan’s agriculture, IT, minerals, and energy sectors, highlighting the country’s potential as a growing investment hub.

Discussions also covered regional security and counterterrorism cooperation. Sharif acknowledged U.S. support for Pakistan’s role in combating terrorism and called for expanding collaboration in intelligence and security domains.

Concluding the meeting, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif extended an official invitation to President Trump to visit Pakistan, underscoring Islamabad’s commitment to further deepening bilateral ties.

The meeting marks a new chapter in Pakistan-U.S. relations, blending diplomacy, trade, and security cooperation with a shared emphasis on peace and stability.
