Mumbai (Khyber Point) Bollywood actress Swara Bhasker has distanced herself from her husband Fahad Ahmad’s recent criticism of actress-turned-politician Kangana Ranaut, highlighting their differing views on the matter.
Fahad Ahmad, who serves as President of the National Youth Congress (Sharad Pawar group), recently called Kangana a “bad politician” during an interview. He argued that despite being a Member of Parliament from Mandi, Kangana had failed to take adequate measures to support flood-affected areas in her constituency. Ahmad added that while she may not be a minister, it is the duty of every elected representative to advocate for government action and fight for resources to help their people.
When asked to assign a hashtag to Kangana, Ahmad replied with #BadPolitician, underscoring his criticism of her political performance.
However, Swara Bhasker, who was present during the interview, disagreed with her husband’s assessment. Instead, she chose to highlight Kangana’s personal journey, calling her #DestinysChild and #NeverGiveUp. Swara remarked that despite her differences with Kangana in the past, the actress’s resilience and struggles in the film industry are commendable.
The exchange drew attention due to the well-documented rivalry between Swara and Kangana, who have frequently clashed on social media over politics and industry issues. Swara’s softer stance this time was seen as a deliberate attempt to avoid further controversy while still respecting her husband’s right to express his political views.
