Peshawar( Khyber Point) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has emphasized that dialogue is the only viable path to achieving lasting peace in the region.
During his visit to the Afghan Embassy in Islamabad, Gandapur met with Acting Afghan Ambassador Sardar Hamad Shakeeb. He offered condolences over the tragic loss of lives caused by the recent earthquake in Afghanistan, expressing solidarity with the Afghan people. He also led prayers for the victims and assured that the people and government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa stand shoulder to shoulder with their Afghan brothers and sisters during this difficult time.
In response, the acting Afghan envoy expressed gratitude to the provincial government for extending generous assistance to earthquake victims, describing the gesture as a symbol of goodwill and friendship.
Speaking with Afghan officials, Chief Minister Gandapur underlined the importance of dialogue and regional cooperation. “Negotiations are the only way to ensure sustainable peace in the region,” he said, adding that enhanced trade and economic cooperation between Pakistan and Afghanistan would serve as a foundation for stability.
He further revealed that the federal government had agreed to initiate talks with Afghanistan, raising hopes for progress on long-standing issues. Gandapur stressed that defeating terrorism requires more than military action — it also demands job creation and economic opportunities for the people.
The Chief Minister also noted that his government is committed to providing maximum facilities to Afghan refugees returning to their homeland. He confirmed that related issues have already been taken up with federal authorities to ensure smooth coordination.
Gandapur concluded that peace, stability, and prosperity in the region hinge on meaningful dialogue, shared development, and mutual trust between neighboring nations.
