Lahore( Khyber Point) Punjab Information Minister Azma Bukhari praised Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz for personally overseeing relief operations in flood-hit areas, describing her as fulfilling her duties “like a mother and a sister.”
In a statement, Azma Bukhari highlighted that the Punjab government is reaching every flood-affected area to ensure timely assistance. She said Maryam Nawaz has been visiting devastated regions herself to review facilities and hold officials accountable wherever administrative shortcomings are identified.
“The facilities being provided to flood victims will not be compromised under any circumstances,” Bukhari stressed, noting that for the past three weeks, the district administration, Civil Defense, Rescue 1122, Punjab Police, and other agencies have been working round the clock to support affected families. She added that teams from the Pakistan Army and Rangers are also playing a crucial role with a spirit of patriotism.
Bukhari strongly criticized those politicizing the crisis, saying: “Maryam Nawaz is performing her duties with compassion, yet some small-minded individuals are exploiting the suffering of flood victims for politics. Those running false propaganda on social media neither understand the value of human lives nor the challenges faced by affected families.”
She emphasized that the people of Punjab clearly recognize who stands with them in times of crisis and who seeks to worsen their pain. “The nation knows well who heals their wounds and who adds salt to them,” she remarked.
The provincial minister reaffirmed that the government, under the leadership of Maryam Nawaz, remains committed to ensuring that no flood victim is left unattended, and that relief measures continue without interruption until full rehabilitation is achieved.
