Speaking during a recent podcast, Asma Abbas addressed Rubi Anum’s comments directed at her and her elder sister, legendary actress Bushra Ansari, noting that such statements were made only to seek attention and quick fame.
According to Asma Abbas, many colleagues had urged her to respond immediately to Rubi Anum’s criticism, but she chose to remain silent initially. “Perhaps Rubi Anum did not achieve what she wanted in her career, and that’s why she thought of saying something controversial to go viral,” she remarked.
The senior actress, who continues to perform in theater alongside television projects, emphasized that she has always received respect and affection from audiences and fellow artists in theater. “I have been part of theater for years, and even today, the environment is full of dignity and support. It is unfortunate when individuals attempt to paint theater actors negatively,” Abbas stated.
The dispute began last month when Rubi Anum targeted Bushra Ansari and Asma Abbas in a vlog, suggesting that given their age, they should retire from activities such as vlogging and instead “take rest.” Her remarks sparked debate in showbiz circles, with many defending the contributions of senior artists.
