Peshawar( Khyber point)A series of firing incidents in Peshawar on Wednesday left a young man dead and three others injured, police confirmed. The attacks were reportedly linked to ongoing disputes and rivalries in different neighborhoods of the provincial capital.
In the first incident, Lāl Sher, son of Khan Sher and a resident of Badaber, reported to Inqilab Police Station that his 18-year-old nephew, Noorullah, was shot dead by an assailant. According to the complaint, Noorullah was in the Chhatro Dag Soorazai Meera area when accused Farman, also from Badaber, opened fire. Police said the shooting stemmed from a long-standing feud between the two families.
A separate shooting occurred in the jurisdiction of Pishtakhara Police Station. Complainant Fazal Khan, son of Tahmas Khan, stated that he and his companion Amir Khan were in the Umidabad No. 2 locality when two armed men, identified as Afaq and Turab, both residents of Umidabad, opened fire on them. Both men sustained injuries, while a passerby was also caught in the crossfire and wounded.
Rescue teams and locals shifted the injured victims to nearby hospitals, where they are receiving treatment. Police have registered both cases and initiated investigations to arrest the suspects. Authorities believe that property disputes and personal rivalries were the key motives behind the shootings.
The incidents have raised concerns among residents about rising gun violence in Peshawar, often fueled by land disputes and family enmities. Police have assured that raids are underway to track down the accused and prevent further escalation
