Karachi( Khyber Point)Pakistani television actress Momina Iqbal has taken a sharp dig at politicians, criticizing their conduct during the recent floods. In a social media post, the actress sarcastically suggested that content creators and performers should step aside, as politicians have already taken over their roles.
In her Instagram story, Momina wrote, “My request to all YouTubers, TikTokers, and actors is to quit their work, because our politicians have started doing it. They are performing much better than us — especially their content creators and cameramen.”
Her remarks appeared to target the recent flood visits where politicians were seen entering inundated areas briefly, surrounded by media crews. According to Momina, these staged appearances do little to help the affected communities and instead resemble publicity stunts.
She further questioned the sincerity of political leaders, adding, “Are we such a foolish nation that people who walk into floodwater for ten to fifteen minutes and then disappear will protect this country?”
The actress condemned statements made by some officials downplaying the damage. “They say there has been no human loss. Sitting safely in their palaces, how would they know that years of people’s hard work have been washed away? What greater human loss is there than to live while everything you built dies?” she wrote.
Momina Iqbal’s bold criticism has sparked debate online, with many social media users echoing her sentiments about political insensitivity during national crises. The actress, known for her outspoken views, continues to use her platform to highlight the struggles of ordinary Pakistanis in times of disaster.
