Peshawar( Khyber Point) Adviser to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government on information, Barrister Dr. Muhammad Ali Saif, has warned that India will face “serious consequences” if it resorts to water aggression against Pakistan. He said New Delhi’s actions are a direct result of its military defeat, accusing the Modi administration of spreading false propaganda to divert attention from its failures.

Speaking to the media, Dr. Saif stated that after suffering a humiliating defeat in the recent conflict, the Indian government has resorted to using water as a weapon against Pakistan. He cautioned that such aggression will not go unanswered. “Water aggression will bring equally severe repercussions for India. The Modi government has a history of employing cheap tactics, and this time it will face grave consequences,” he asserted.

The provincial adviser further said that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government stands firmly with the people of Punjab during these difficult times. He noted that Chief Minister Sardar Ali Amin Gandapur has already extended full support to Punjab, offering all possible cooperation to tackle the crisis.

Highlighting the situation within his own province, Dr. Saif acknowledged that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has also been hit hard by floods. He praised the leadership of Chief Minister Gandapur, under whom the provincial government carried out an extensive rescue operation. According to official figures, nearly 6,000 people were rescued during the operation, while relief and rehabilitation efforts remain ongoing.

Dr. Saif stressed that the chief minister is personally overseeing relief work, ensuring that affected families receive timely support. He confirmed that compensation packages have already been distributed: more than Rs. 650 million have been disbursed among families of flood victims who lost their lives, while injured individuals have received over Rs. 200 million in assistance.

Community leaders and residents of flood-affected regions have welcomed the government’s quick response, though concerns remain about the long-term rehabilitation of devastated areas. Analysts say that while Pakistan’s internal unity in the face of natural disasters is commendable, the looming threat of Indian water manipulation could pose a major strategic and humanitarian challenge.

As tensions escalate, Pakistan has reiterated its readiness to counter both propaganda and aggressive actions from its eastern neighbor. Dr. Saif concluded that Pakistan’s resilience, combined with strong provincial leadership, would ensure that neither war nor water aggression could weaken the nation’s resolve.
