Peshawar( Khyber point )A tragic incident unfolded in the Daudzai area of Peshawar on Wednesday when a quarrel between children escalated into deadly violence, leaving three people, including two women, dead. The shooting has once again highlighted the fragile law and order situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where minor disputes often spiral into fatal confrontations.

According to police sources, the clash occurred near Haji Zai Mohajir Camp in Daudzai. The dispute reportedly began as an argument among children from two neighboring families. However, tensions quickly escalated when adults intervened. In the heat of the conflict, one group allegedly stormed into the house of the opposing family and opened indiscriminate fire.

The gunfire left three people dead on the spot. The victims include two women from one side of the dispute and a man from the other family, police confirmed. The sudden eruption of violence has sent shockwaves across the community, where residents expressed fear and concern over the growing trend of small disputes turning into bloodshed.

Police officials said a case of triple murder has been registered and search operations are underway to arrest the suspects involved. “We have initiated a thorough investigation and raids are being conducted to apprehend those responsible,” a police spokesperson stated. He added that more details would be shared once arrests are made.

Incidents of such nature are not uncommon in the tribal and rural belts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where disputes over land, personal honor, or even children’s quarrels often result in blood feuds. Experts say weak conflict-resolution mechanisms, coupled with the easy availability of weapons, exacerbate the problem.

Community elders in Daudzai have also called for restraint and appealed to both families to avoid further violence. Local residents have urged the authorities to strengthen policing in the area to prevent similar incidents in the future.

The provincial government has repeatedly stressed its commitment to improving law and order in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, but rising cases of interpersonal violence continue to challenge those claims. The latest tragedy adds to the mounting death toll from personal disputes in the region, underlining the urgent need for stronger preventive measures and community-level reconciliation initiatives.

As investigations continue, the grieving families prepare to bury their loved ones, yet another reminder of how quickly a minor altercation can claim innocent lives in Peshawar’s vulnerable neighborhoods.
