ABBOTTABAD (Khyber Point) Pakistan’s military spokesperson, Director General ISPR Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, reaffirmed on Thursday that the Pakistan Army remains resolute in its mission to defend the nation, warning that any external aggression will be met with a strong and severe response.
Addressing faculty members and students during a special session in Abbottabad, the DG ISPR discussed key national and regional issues, including Pakistan’s counterterrorism measures, the current Pakistan-Afghanistan tensions, and broader national security challenges. A large number of university professors and students attended the interactive session.
Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif stated that Pakistan has taken effective and decisive actions against terrorism and the extremist elements he termed as “Fitna-tul-Khawarij.” He praised the nation’s security forces for their sacrifices in maintaining peace and protecting the country’s borders, emphasizing that Pakistan’s armed forces are fully prepared to respond to any threat, internal or external.
During the session, teachers and students paid rich tribute to the country’s martyrs and war veterans. Vice Chancellor of Hazara University, Dr. Ikramullah Khan, lauded the Pakistan Army, calling it “the true embodiment of patriotism” and an institution that stands firm on the frontlines for the country’s defense.
Participants highlighted the increasing propaganda and misinformation campaigns against Pakistan’s institutions, particularly targeting the youth through social media. They stressed the importance of educating students with verified and factual information to counter these hostile narratives.
Students expressed pride in the role of the Pakistan Army and appreciation for the DG ISPR’s openness in addressing their questions. Many noted that his responses helped dispel confusion surrounding national and provincial security matters.
The session concluded with renewed resolve among participants to contribute to national unity and counter misinformation undermining Pakistan’s stability.
