PESHAWAR (Khyber Point) Police in the provincial capital have launched an investigation after a body was discovered in the Hazarkhwani area of Peshawar on Wednesday, August 27, 2025. The victim, identified as Muhammad Hassan, was reportedly killed by gunfire under unclear circumstances.
According to police sources, the incident came to light when the complainant, Sher Hassan, son of the deceased, lodged a First Information Report (FIR). He informed authorities that his father had gone to the fields for work but did not return home. Later, it was discovered that Muhammad Hassan had been killed. The complainant alleged that an individual named Kamil was responsible for the murder, though the motive remains unknown.
The body was immediately shifted to a local hospital for a postmortem examination to determine the exact cause and time of death. Police confirmed that an official case has been registered against the accused, and further investigation is now underway.
Law enforcement officials stated that they are collecting forensic evidence from the crime scene and recording statements of eyewitnesses and family members. Authorities have assured that no effort will be spared in bringing the perpetrator to justice.
The shocking incident has spread concern among residents of Hazarkhwani, a suburban locality of Peshawar, where such violent crimes are relatively rare but have occasionally been linked to local disputes and personal enmities. Police have increased patrolling in the area to maintain law and order and to prevent further unrest.
